Meat Livestock Australia (MLA), provides marketing, research and development, and advocacy on behalf of the Australian Red Meat Industry. As part of their International Markets Team, I worked on 4 different projects:

  1. WebDAM – a digital asset management system. I worked to ensure backlog was cleared, uploaded 20,000 digital assets, and tag assets with the correct metadata and keywords. A specific focus was on the ensure metadata tags had the umbrella agreement and SOW for IP and copyright purposes.
  2. Virtual Trade Shows - Set up SharePoint infrastructure and view types, to host assets and documents provided by vendors/exporters for the Trade Shows, and an excel spreadsheet for tracking purposes.
  3. Project Plans Reporting & Automated Email Workflow Approval System. I configured Logiforms (chosen software by MLA) to develop the following process:
    • Developed the following forms/reports – Market Implementation Plans, Project Plans & Activity Proposals.
    • Built an automated email workflow approval system where regional manager would submit forms that were automatically sent to General Manager for approver. If approval was declined, an automatic email would be sent regional manager for resubmission. If approved, a reported would be generated in PDF form, and copy would be sent to both Regional manager & General Manager. the form of a PDF and
    • Configured the PDF generator to the appropriate visual layout, data and structure for each report.
  4. MLA Europe's website (eu) changed their content management system, from WordPress to Episerver. I was responsible for migrating the website's content across the two platforms, and took the time to rework the site structure, navigation and design.

Workflow Improvement Officer | NSW Health / HealthShare

As part of the rostering team at HealthShare, I identified areas of improvement, and devise and implement strategies and solutions in the following ways:

  • Introduced a KanBan board to the rostering team, to improve internal communication and accountability, and provide transparency of workload among team members.
  • Developed a process to reduce outstanding unapproved retrospective adjustments, which result in non-process that have approved, and therefore not processed and paid to employees. This resulted in a reduction of outstanding items from 150 to 10-15 items for each fortnight, and employees receiving their pay slips adjustment from 6 weeks to 4 weeks.
  • Provide coaching to the rostering team, to improve their knowledge bank with rostering, payroll, and workers compensation, and more importantly, stimulate their problem solving abilities.

Implementation Consultant | Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD)

I was an imperative part of the Western Sydney Local Health District’s project team, that was responsible for the successful migration from a legacy system to HealthRoster for 12,000 employees. I performed business analysis to identify current business processes by engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders to find the best fit approach and achieve a smooth transition.

Other core responsibilities included:

  • Engaged and coordinated with relevant stakeholders to ensure information and knowledge are transferred, and gather any concerns that need to be addressed.
  • Develop weekly reports to ensure key project milestones and metrics were met.
  • Conducted impact assessments on existing legacy system to HealthRoster, and developed business processes which were communicated through different mediums to targeted audiences.
  • Created communication and training artefacts such as Quick Reference Guides, Go-Live Schedules and Key Activities Factsheets.
  • Identified risks and issues on the project, and provide mitigation plan and tracking to resolution. Complicated issues required input from multiple internal and external stakeholders to resolve for example HR, Industrial Relations and Workforce departments.
  • Determined gaps in the project and assessed additional scope and the impact it would have on the project timeline.
  • Recommended and developed appropriate software configuration, and advised business’s requirements to uphold best rostering practices.
  • Trained and coached different users and role bearers (i.e. roster creators, roster managers, local rostering administrators, and key upper management personnel), to implement and utilise HealthRoster, and facilitate further discussions of reporting, rostering and payroll capabilities.

Rostering System Administrator | NSW Health / HealthShare

Rostering Quality Unit (RQU) is responsible for ensuring a successful transfer of a rostering data file to the payroll system which ensured wage payment for 11, 500 employees across 3 different health agencies. Additionally I was also responsible for solving roster queries and troubleshooting problems.

  • Responsible for designing rosters that are user friendly and tailored to business requirements.
  • Develop strategies to reduce the number of roster and pay file errors and issues. Strategies can range from changing workflows, tailoring communications, developing manual process workarounds and monitoring changes due to new software releases.
  • Investigate technical errors and raise incidents, problems and defects.
  • Coordinate between various team and stakeholders including - payroll, workers compensation, roster managers to ensure that employees’ payment are processed correctly.
  • Run daily quality check reports using a Quality Check tool (Microsoft VB Database tool) to check and resolve errors to ensure the successful transfer of rostering pay file to the payroll system.
  • Provide email & phone support to managers along with further coaching and training to various users of HealthRoster and colleagues.
  • Conduct workers compensation payroll activities - which includes, calculating PIAWE, liaising with Recovery to Work Business Partners, calculating and processing workers compensation payment, organising remittance file with QBE (NSW Health’s Insurer), and reconciling financial receipts received from QBE.

Data Implementer Feb | NSW Health / eHealth / DXC Red Rock

As part of the eHealth rostering program, we helped NSW Pathology transition in a new rostering system - HealthRoster. My role was to gather rostering requirement, and configure the data into the system. I also provided go live support and assisted with project coordination, testing and change management.

  • Present and communicate to an audience of roster managers about Health Roster and explain various types of data required and address any queries or concerns.
  • Interview and collect data from roster managers, and management, which were then configured into HealthRoster, and conducted quality assurance (QA).
  • Coordinate and liaise between project team, solution design team, application support team and users on various aspects of HealthRoster.
  • Troubleshoot and report any technical defect or issues to application support team.
